A zeep, or Forward-Thorne battery, is a variably-sized power source that can last for decades. "Zeep" is short for "zero-point", which uses quantum fields to produce large amounts of energy for a relatively low energy cost, thus producing significantly more energy than is introduced into the battery. Zeeps are used to power many different sizes of devices, including personal electronics all the way up to Kovel jump drive and large space stations. the largest zeep known to exist prior to the discovery of Cellan Three was three meters long. The batteries are (usually metallic) cylindrical crystals with eight or more facts that run the length of the crystal.
