Anahera Kauri

Anahera Kauri is a human who first appears in "Lagrange Two, Lagrange One, Do You Copy?" as the pilot on the Lucky Dragon.

Biography

Anahera was born on 25 December 2088 in Matamata, Aotearoa (New Zealand officially changed its name in 2054). Her first name literally means “angel.” In Maori custom, the family name was an ancestor’s first name, when the family needed to take a surname about two hundred years ago.

Her father is the chief of her tribe and is somewhat disappointed by his daughter’s decision to leave the land and sea in favor of the sky and space, but he does recognize it’s her decision. Her mum and little sisters (she’s oldest of three girls) think it’s great and want her to send pictures, even though she has explained over and over that one picture looks an awful lot like the next once you’re past the moon.

She is a First Lieutenant (O3) in the International Space Exploration Force. Speaks Maori and English.
