Rainbow Snake Nebula

The Rainbow Snake Nebula is an H II region emission nebula that appears in the Celestial Lance Universe. It is about 62,000 light years away from the Sol system in normal space, located on the Scutum-Centaurus Arm. From the direction it was originally discovered, it looked like a rainbow snake, having an elongated S-curve pattern. The Hebi system, named after the nebula, is located about 19 light years away from end of the nebula's coreward tail in normal space.

Its structure is very unusual. Human scientists have studied it for over 1000 years since its discovery in 2954, but they have been unable to explain its structure or origin.
