Renn
The Renn are a race in the Celestial Lance Universe.
Origins
The Renn accessed the Milky Way galaxy via a Lansiya wormhole, about 142 million kilometers above the Lansiya northern pole. The other side of the wormhole was the Renn Prime wormhole. This system is located in what humans call the NGC 5248 galaxy. This wormhole was first rediscovered by ICES in the sequel to Lansiya Discovery.
Description
(notes from Trello) Adults average about 2.5 meters tall and about 68 centimeters across the shoulder. The arm "wingspan" is about 2.75 meters, a higher ratio than tends to be found in humans. They have a medium bulky musculature on a skeleton made of a very dense bone-like material.
Hands each have 5 fingers and an opposable thumb (6 digits total).
Their skin is as varied in color as human skin, but all of them have a slight reddish tint to them. Adult males and adult females are similar in stature, so most humans have a hard time distinguishing between them.
Their homeworld is Earth-like, but slightly larger and denser, about 1.3 times the mass and about 1.2 times the diameter of Earth. It is located orbiting a G2 star in the Caldwell 45 galaxy (NGC 5248), about 60 million ly from Earth.
Language
The language of the Renn is Rennya.
History
Even the Renn are not sure exactly how long their civilization has existed. It has been estimated that they took to the stars over 200 million Earth years prior to the events in Lansiya Discovery. They engaged in about 7000 years of regular warring and fighting with the Halfen that ended abruptly about 23,000 years prior to the first official Halfen contact with humans in 2116. The Renn have not been seen in the Milky Way galaxy since that time.
