Lowell Brackett, often called simply Low, is an asteroid miner employed by Perseid Mining and Construction. He first appears in the novelette "O. stellarum".
Biography
Born in 2052 in Melba, Idaho on Earth. After graduating from high school, he began working in mining construction, eventually moving into space construction in 2071. Low fell on hard times after the market crash of 2083, but found employment with Perseid in preparing asteroids for mining operations. After a rocky start there, he found his place and moved up in the company until he became Director of Mining Operations for the company in 2109. He was killed by a terrorist attack on Perseid Station on 25 May 2116.
