This is a glossary of terms unique to the Celestial Lance Universe, as well as other helpful terms that come up in various stories.
Unique terms
- Dead end
- A star system with only one wormhole node. Examples include the Hana-ka-lau-‘ai system. See Category:Dead ends.
- Hub
- A star system with at least two wormhole nodes. Most star systems with wormholes have more than one.
- Orphan
- A star system with no known wormholes. See Category:Orphans.
- Node
- A wormhole opening. This is where ships enter and exit the wormhole.
- Sphereship
- A spheroid (either globular or oblong) ship, originally of Halfen design. Diameters range from small shuttles such as Chosu Nomh (8 meters) to very large ships such as Hikianalia (1000 meters).
- Superhub
- A star system containing more than ten wormhole nodes. Examples include Arcturus and Sol. See Category:Superhubs.
Directional terms
- Aspinward
- In the opposite direction as the galaxy spins
- Coreward
- Toward the galactic core
- Downward
- Moving below the galactic plane on the side of Alpha Gruis/Alnair
- Edgeward
- See rimward, below.
- Rimward
- Toward the edge of the galaxy
- Spinward
- In the same direction as the galaxy is spinning
- Upward
- Moving above the galactic plane on the side of Polaris
