Lansium (Lm) is a heavy element, atomic number 150, in the Celestial Lance Universe. It was used in the construction and powering of Cellan Three. It was named by Adele Watanabe after the name of the system in which it was first discovered, Lansiya.

Description

Lansium has three known stable isotopes: Lm-389 (239 neutrons), Lm-390 (240 neutrons), and Lm-391 (241 neutrons). it is very dense and heavy, metalloid, brittle in natural form but forms incredibly dense and hard alloys used in building the station. Because it's so large, the normal nuclear force doesn't hold it together, a previously unknown force, dubbed the Khazanian Force after Albert Khazan, holds it together and allows the molecules to exist naturally. It is formed naturally between about 50k and 100k km down in gas giants, but it can't form if the temps and pressure are too high. Therefore, it doesn't form in stars.

Things that need doing

  • Develop alloy info
  • Determine electron shells, if needed. (reference charts)
  • Determine other isotopes, if needed. How many isotopes (make a list of several)?
  • Is it natural or only artificial? Researchers in the CLU don't know where to find lansium ore yet, but it can also be produced artificially at great expense by 4178.
