This is a glossary of terms unique to the Celestial Lance Universe, as well as other helpful terms that come up in various stories.

Unique terms

Dead end
A star system with only one wormhole node. Examples include the Hana-ka-lau-‘ai system. See Category:Dead ends.
Hub
A star system with at least two wormhole nodes. Most star systems that have wormholes have more than one.
Orphan
A star system with no known wormholes. See Category:Orphans.
Node
A wormhole opening. This is where ships enter and exit the wormhole.
Superhub
A star system containing more than ten wormhole nodes. Examples include Arcturus and Sol. See Category:Superhubs.

General terms

Aspinward
In the opposite direction as the galaxy spins
Coreward
Toward the galactic core
Downward
Moving below the galactic plane on the side of Alpha Gruis/Alnair
Rimward
Toward the edge of the galaxy
Spinward
In the same direction as the galaxy is spinning
Upward
Moving above the galactic plane on the side of Polaris
