Alien 2 - Kimmalevoi - Name is a combination of "kimazushii" and "malevolum", Japanese and Latin for "grumpy". They are known for being stubborn, gruff, and difficult to deal with. They are generally not outright hostile, though, but if they get it in their minds that you are trying to take territory from them, they throw everything into destroying anything in the area they've claimed. There is a general peace between Humans and Kimmalevoi, which is why Adele is so keen on avoiding them. She doesn't want to cause an incident.

• • Description**: The Kimmalevoi are heavyset and tall (average about 6'5"). Their skin is dark grayish-brown and very rough. They have very little hair, mostly concentrated in a patch at the nape of the neck and very short. They are from a world with about 1.9x the mass of Earth but about the same size.

There are different factions and groups within the Kimmalevoi, and they don't all agree with each other. In fact, they often fight each other. These factions vary in coloration (some are lighter and some are darker), with differences in skin roughness and patterns. Several of the groups speak different languages from each other, though there is a "standard" language that many of them speak (to varying degrees).

They are from the area around the Beta Tauri system (about 131 ly from Earth in the general direction of Bellatrix and Capella, though much higher above the Solar plane), though no one has been able to find out which nearby system they are from due to their being generally uncooperative and fairly hostile to anyone who encroaches on their territory. They don't always kill the intruders, but if a specific ship comes back, it won't get a second chance to leave.
